Monsters

In the city when lights are low

The vampires do come and go

And werewolves stalk the city streets

Looking for the freshest meat

In graveyards ghouls are often seen

By graves were bodies may have been

And in the streams the kelpies stay

To play with those who’ve lost their way

But when the light rises in the sky

The streets feel safe but is that a lie

For not all monsters hide away

There are some that live in light of day

They look just like us, you and me

They’re very hard for us to see

And unlike the ones we seem to know

They monsters are not ones on show

For night time monsters are more safe

Than those who do not show their face

Be wary of what you cannot see

Or lost to monsters you will be
