Dragons

This is where the dragons go

Through flame and thunder deep below

The wait in time and in space

Watching, waiting for the place

That will allow them to rise again

They do not mean to be our friends

They mean to scorch this bitter earth

To start it on a grand rebirth

For humans waste the earth’s sweet gifts

And on through time the earth does drift

Her beauty tarnished by misuse

While humans cannot see the truth

That we cannot continue thus

Or earth she will destroy all of us

And so she waits for change to rise

When dragons come and fill the skies

To help the humans disappear

Be careful as that time is near

And in the deeps the dragons wait

To assist us to our awful fate
